Thank you for being part of WWF’s Earth Hour

Thank you so much for being part of the world’s biggest call to action for the protection of the planet! With thousands of businesses and organisations switching off their lights for an hour – and so many making remarkable promises for things they’ll do ‘beyond the hour’ – Earth Hour 2012 has successfully focused attention on our brilliant planet, and how we need to protect it. Not just for an hour a year, but every day.

St Peter's School
St Peter’s School

Millions of children took part and learned more about the brilliant world we all share – and how we need to protect it. Globally the World Organisation of the Scout Movement and World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts took part. Here in the UK there were 3,582 schools involved, including the winners of WWF’s Community Competition Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Evan James primary school in Pontypridd, Wales.

We would love to here how your school or youth groups celebrated Earth Hour. Send your stories to Schools and youth team and we will share your stories.

Global warming became climate change, now “sustainability” seems to be the buzz word for your, and other, NGO’s to describe your campaign to “save the planet”.

The climate science is not proven, no matter what you say, just open your minds, and look at the the science from lots of different sources, without bias, and stop this
    alarmist propaganda.

I would also appreciate it if you would stop brainwashing and frightening my, and also
many other people’s, children with your stories of a world destroyed by cataclismic
“climate change” within their lifetimes, and using cute polar bears floating on tiny fragments of ice to pull at their heartstrings.

Schools are not the place to disseminate your almost religious views about
global warming and pending doom, our schools are for the academic education of our children, not for their indoctrination into an as yet proven theory of global
    destruction.

Hello I’m a member for the Wombles a part of the Worcester volunteer centre. Which is a group of young people that will be hosting an event on the King George the Fifth’s field, near Brickfields Road. Where we are going to spell out the words “Earth hour 2012″ with candles in jars. We hope everyone in or close to this area will attend, because we are putting a lot of effort into this event for the public to come and watch.
