WWF's Earth Hour for Businesses
Support Earth Hour 2010 on 27 March at 8.30pm
Be part of a massive global event. WWF’s Earth Hour offers a significant way for your company, staff, colleagues and friends to show support for global action to tackle climate change.
Last year over 18,000 companies globally including over 700 companies in the UK signed up. To keep climate change at the top of the agenda we need this to be bigger and better in 2010. Join other companies across the world and switch off and support WWF’s Earth Hour 2010.
1. Sign up
By signing up you will demonstrate that your company cares about people, wildlife and the planet and that you want world leaders to take action on climate change. Once you register, you will receive information on what your company and colleagues can do to become more involved in WWF’s Earth Hour including useful resources and tips.
2. Switch off and show your support
Switching off your lights to support WWF’s Earth Hour. generates a very visible demonstration of support, interest and publicity for this global event. Your company can help by switching off all non-essential lighting including landmark buildings, signage and electronic billboards and by informing local media and the Communications Team at WWF-UK about your actions.
3. Engage colleagues and raise vital funds in the build up to WWF’s Earth Hour
Engaging colleagues and fundraising for WWF’s Earth Hour is a fantastic way to encourage team building, raise vital funds for WWF’s climate change programmes, further deliver on corporate social responsibility goals and have fun! As Earth Hour takes place on a Saturday, most companies undertake Earth Hour employee engagement activities during the preceding week.
4. Spread the word to your customers and suppliers
To show that you are a business that cares about climate change, encourage your customers and suppliers to switch off and support WWF's Earth Hour on 27 March 2010.
