A call to young UK creatives for Earth Hour 2015

Design a light switch competition - NOW CLOSED -

Please note that the competition has now closed. We have had some fantastic entries and are looking forward to announcing the winner in the very near future!

About the competition:

We teamed up with creative charity Do The Green Thing ahead of Earth Hour on 28th March 2015, inviting young creative talents around the country to design a light switch!

The competition invited 16 – 25 year olds to create a design to inspire people to protect the planet – this could be in the form of a sticker to cover the light switch, a decorative design for the wall around a light switch or an entirely new kind of light switch itself. Anything, as long as it is focussed on or around a light switch and inspires people to take action.

This is your moment to inspire the world to live a more thoughtful and less consumptive way of life, and all it takes is a bit of creativity.

If you entered our competition thanks! You can read the terms and conditions of the competition here.

The winning design will be chosen to headline the ’15 Everyday Things’ campaign in March 2015, in which objects designed by world-renowned creatives will be showcased to inspire millions around the world to live a more sustainable life.

Last March, Do The Green Thing and WWF-UK reached 30 million people around the world with 29 posters from 29 world class designers, artists, illustrators and photographers in the run up to Earth Hour 2014. They included Sir Paul Smith, Sir Quentin Blake, Rankin, Neville Brody, David Shrigley and others.
