Paramount Pictures supported this year’s Earth Hour with a special ‘Star Trek’ themed light display ahead of the release of the new film ‘Into Darkness’.
In conjunction with Arts Electronica and Futurelab & Ascending Technologies, a fleet of quadrocopters flew into the night sky forming the 94 meter Start Trek federation logo next to Tower Bridge and City Hall. The lights hovered at ranges between 36 and 130 meters above ground to create the recognisable sign, which highlighted the start and the end of this year’s Earth Hour.
John Fletcher, Director of Marketing for Paramount Pictures UK, said: “We are very pleased to go ‘into darkness’ with the rest of the world in support of Earth Hour. It seems fitting to be associated with such a global cause.”
